Adult Sunday School Classes
Nolongya – (Education Hall-Northwest rooms)
“Nolongya”: it sounds vaguely tribal… but it’s really just a mashup of “no longer young adults.” Most of us are currently in our 30s-50s and have kids somewhere between preschool and college age. We welcome open-minded individuals from any relationship status or generation. We like to laugh, commiserate, and talk about serious challenges of faith – often all at once. Several of us take turns facilitating our discussions. Some past studies have included books of the Bible, current events through a Biblical lens, spiritual disciplines, and personal testimonies. One last note: we tend to get a slow start, so don’t worry if no one has arrived for the 9:00 Sunday School hour before 9:15.
F.I.S.H – Fellowship In Service to Him (Education Hallway–Room Y)
A gathering of adults—single/ married/ dating couples/ families—for fellowship. A time of Bible study and to support one another in Christ. We welcome any and all to join us as we grow in our relationships and friendships with each other and God.
New Beginnings – (Education Hall-Southwest rooms)
The New Beginnings SS Class members are mostly in our 50s up to 70s, while we welcome members of any age. We give time for sharing, prayer and mutual support, along with focused Scripture study. We seek to grow spiritually and learn from our diverse perspectives. Our recent studies have included the Gospel of John, a book study “A Faith of Many Rooms”, and a video series by Max Lucado. We hold regular social gatherings for fellowship.
Genesis – (Education Hall-Northeast rooms)
The Genesis Sunday class includes members who are 65 years old and older. The class studies a variety of books and topics which are decided on by the class members. We begin each class session with a sharing time that can be done by any member of the group. The Genesis class often meets for a noon meal once a month after church. ANYONE is welcome to be a part of this class.
Vessels – (Education Hall-Southeast rooms)
We are seeking to discover more of what it means to live as “Vessels” of God in everyday life. Our age range is from 50-80 years of age. The majority of us are retired or approaching retirement age. We take time for sharing and prayer concerns in the first 15 minutes of class. The rest of the time is doing a book study on a topic, having to do with justice issues or a Bible study.
Pathfinders – (Education Hallway Room Z)
Pathfinders range in ages 67 to 96, the average age a lively 90. We begin with sharing and prayer requests, singing a hymn, and prayer. The first 15 to 20 minutes is spent highlighting key themes from the Bible-based lesson and then moves to a series of questions that involving group discussion. Anyone is welcome to join us, even just on one Sunday. Come find the path with us. We turn no one away!
